My name is Jenny, and I cared for my mom since 2006 until December 1, 2008 when she passed away. She was a quad and required the use of a home ventilator and oxygen 24/7 (I will explain more details later). During this time I was (and still am) in graduate school working on my Masters degree in clincial psychology and also work as much as possible. My time caring for my mother was the hardest thing I have ever done, but I would not take back one minute of it. I feel that her strength in addition to the opportunity to care for someone more than I care for myself has made me into the person I am today. I truly feel that I am a better, stronger person for the experiences I had with her and her condition.
